KIHEI, Hawai'i, June 16, 2008 – Hawaii Business magazine recently named Akimeka as one of the state’s “Best Places to Work 2008.” Akimeka finished in the top 10 in the medium-sized company category and was one of 70 businesses selected from a total of 250 organizations nominated for the award.
“This recognition is a great honor and reflects favorably on all our talented employees and the important work they are doing for our customers and in our communities,” said Vaughn Vasconcellos, Akimeka president and CEO.
“Best Places to Work” is an annual look by Hawaii Business at “companies that embrace the simple principle that if your people flourish, your company flourishes.” Award-winning businesses were judged on a number of criteria, including “creating a supportive company culture where people can grow and excel, both professionally and personally.” In compiling the list, the magazine collected surveys from thousands of employees and employed a third-party company, Best Companies Group, to evaluate the candidates and judge the responses.
